22nd April Earth Day 2019 is a good day to remind ourselves that every day is Earth Day.
At Accomplished Tree Management, we believe connecting people to nature is an important part of living well with and in our environment.
This year, Earth Day calls us to Protect Our Species. We read in the news about disappearing bees and coral reefs, or the alarming number of animals that are in danger of extinction. Climate change is no longer an urban myth. The increasing periods of drought and incidences of forest fires in Australia have been devastating to our trees and natural spaces. On the other side of the globe, Brazil has lost 20% of the Amazon rainforest since the 1970s. Mother Nature is paying the price now for our modern lifestyle but ultimately, we will be the ones to pay the very painful price of losing our natural environment.
Many aspects of our modern lifestyle harm our environment and as a fellow species on this planet, there is much each of us can do to protect nature around us.
We can start by making a change where we are, in our own backyard. The care and maintenance of your trees and gardens can have a ripple effect on the environment around. Your private natural space is in itself a mini eco system for many species. Exercising good maintenance practices in your gardens goes a long way to helping our environment.
How do you ensure proper maintenance of your trees and gardens?
Home or property owners who have trees and gardens can find this an overwhelming task. At Accomplished Tree Management our consultancy services guide our clients to understand better what their trees and gardens need, be it regarding legal issues, how to blend nature with artificial constructions or simply how to help their plants grow well. Our clients range from home owners to developers. Speak to us for peace of mind for the best way to keep your trees and gardens healthy and happy.
Maintenance at Accomplished Tree Management includes hedging, pruning, deadwooding and palm tree maintenance. Regular care and early detection of potential hazards or problems can ensure that your trees and gardens continue to flourish.
Trees require special attention and they are our passion. We see each tree we come into contact with as a client in its own right and we delight in our responsibility to provide high quality service for the tree and its owner. The language and behaviour of trees is second nature to us and we understand what services are required when home and property owners speak to us about their concerns. Our services include tree removal, stump grinding, palm tree defronding and advising on council regulations.
Children are little protectors of their planet
When your trees and gardens turn into a luscious paradise, it brings not just joy to the owners, they also become a beautiful and safe home for many other species. If you want to know who are the little creatures making a home in your backyard, enlist the help of little children. They are wonderful detectives at spotting bees, birds and bugs. Make a headcount and you will be surprised at just how highly populated your modest garden is. We have a beautiful co-existence with so many other living things we rarely pay attention to. Invite your children to show you this miraculous ecosystem you are creating in your urban landscape.
We can teach children with this simple invitation to be more conscious and loving of the environment we live in. No child is too small to take on the responsibility of caring for a little plant or a tiny bug. And they actually love being made to feel they are important, strong and powerful enough to be entrusted with this task. They learn that each natural space is not just a simple patch of green. It is a home for many other living things. It is to be respected and taken care of. By teaching our children to be little protectors of their planet, we are also ensuring they, as another species, will also be protected in the future with the opportunity to continue enjoying the gifts of Mother Nature.
Let’s celebrate Earth Day 2019 right where we are, with the simple appreciation of standing under a gentle tree or enjoying the quiet beauty of a wildflower.
